Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for Build My Resume. Please read it carefully before you subscribe — by purchasing a paid plan, you agree to this policy.

1. Try before you pay

Build My Resume offers a free tier so you can use the core of the Service before spending any money. We strongly encourage you to use the free tier first to confirm the Service meets your needs. When you upgrade to a paid plan, you are confirming that you have evaluated the Service and chosen to subscribe.

2. All payments are non-refundable

Subscription payments are final and non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused time, and unused features. This applies to every plan and billing interval (monthly, quarterly, and yearly), to renewals, and to upgrades. Because the Service delivers digital content and AI-generated results immediately, we do not offer refunds, credits, or pro-rated amounts once a billing period has begun — except where a refund is required by applicable law (see Section 6) or granted at our sole discretion in the limited circumstances below.

3. Cancel anytime — keep access to the end of your period

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile or the customer portal. Cancellation is the right way to stop being billed:

  • Cancelling stops all future renewals — you will not be charged again.
  • You keep full Pro access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Access is not cut off early, and the remaining time is not refunded.
  • We do not automatically refund a renewal simply because you forgot to cancel before it billed. Please cancel before your renewal date if you do not want to continue.

4. Auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize Build My Resume and our payment provider to charge your payment method for each renewal. It is your responsibility to cancel before the renewal date if you do not wish to be charged. A renewal charge is not, by itself, grounds for a refund.

5. Limited discretionary exceptions

We want you to be treated fairly. In a small number of situations we may, at our sole discretion, issue a refund or account credit even though payments are otherwise final — for example:

  • a duplicate or accidental charge caused by a technical error on our side;
  • a confirmed billing error where you were charged the wrong amount;
  • a prolonged outage that made the paid Service substantially unusable for a significant portion of your billing period and was caused by us.

These are considered case by case and are not guaranteed. Refunds are not provided for reasons such as: changing your mind, not using the Service, dissatisfaction with AI-generated suggestions or scores, not achieving a particular outcome (such as an interview or job offer), forgetting to cancel, or issues caused by your own device, network, or account misuse.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy removes or limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence. Where such laws give you a right to a refund or a cooling-off period that cannot be waived, that right continues to apply and overrides anything to the contrary in this policy.

7. How to request a refund

If you believe you qualify under Section 5 or under applicable law, email us at support@build-myresume.com from the email address tied to your account within 14 days of the charge. Please include the date of the charge, the plan, and a short description of the issue. We will review your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method via our payment provider and may take several business days to appear.

8. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in suspension or termination of your account while the dispute is investigated. We reserve the right to contest disputes we believe are unwarranted.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and the policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
