1. Acceptance of these Terms
Build My Resume is operated as a sole proprietorship trading as “Build My Resume” (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a paid subscription. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that you are able to enter into a binding contract.
3. Your account
You sign in using a one-time code sent to your email, or through a supported third-party login. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Notify us promptly at support@build-myresume.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4. The Service and AI-generated content
The Service helps you build, optimize, score, and tailor resumes using automated and AI-assisted tools. Resume content you provide is processed by us and by third-party AI providers to generate suggestions, scores, and rewritten text.
Important — AI output is a starting point, not professional advice. AI-generated suggestions and ATS scores are produced automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Scores are heuristic estimates and are not affiliated with, or predictive of, any specific employer’s applicant-tracking system. We do not guarantee any outcome — including interviews, job offers, or that a resume will pass any particular screening. You are solely responsible for reviewing all output and for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information in your resume before you use or submit it.
5. Acceptable use and fair use
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- submit content that is false, infringing, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to use;
- access the Service through automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts), or bulk-generate requests beyond normal individual use;
- resell, sublicense, rent, or share your account or its paid benefits with others;
- probe, scan, overload, or interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service, or attempt to bypass any rate limit, quota, or access control;
- reverse engineer or copy any part of the Service except as permitted by law.
Fair use of unlimited plans.Paid plans described as “unlimited” are intended for normal, individual, human use in connection with your own job search. To protect the Service and keep it sustainable for everyone, we may apply reasonable technical limits and may throttle, pause, or suspend accounts that show automated, excessive, bulk, resale, or shared usage. We will use reasonable judgement and, where practical, contact you before taking action.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and renewals
We offer a free tier and paid “Pro” subscriptions on monthly, quarterly, and yearly terms. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Dodo Payments; we do not store your full card details. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude any taxes, which may be added at checkout based on your billing region.
- Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your profile or the customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Price changes. We may change prices or plan features; changes apply to future billing periods, and we will give reasonable notice where required.
7. Refunds
Payments are generally non-refundable, except as set out in our Refund Policy or where a refund is required by applicable law. Please review that policy before subscribing.
8. Your content and intellectual property
You retain all rights to the resume content and other material you provide (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — including sending it to our AI routing provider (OpenRouter) and the model provider it forwards to, in each case under an instruction not to retain or train on your content, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train AI models.
The Service itself — including its software, design, branding, and content we create — is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, AI processing, payments, and email. Your use of the Service may also be subject to those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result, score, or suggestion will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, opportunities, or employment, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by us.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence, you agree that the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
